Restorative Dentistry in Sparks

If you have a damaged tooth—whether from decay, injury, or some other cause—let us restore the appearance and function of it. We use MicroPrime desensitizer when we do restorative work, to eliminate post-op sensitivity and discomfort.

Endodontics

More commonly known as a root canal, endodontics is a treatment that can repair and save a badly damaged or infected tooth. By removing the inner pulp of an infected tooth, we can save the tooth and prevent a future infection. We commonly perform root canals on front teeth, premolars, and molars, with internal bleaching. And of course, we use a local anesthetic (and nitrous oxide should you want it) so you won’t feel a thing.

Fillings

Fillings help prevent further damage and decay, and restore the appearance and function of the tooth. We fill cavities using a composite fill that’s perfectly color-matched to your natural teeth, and use something called a Garrison matrix to aid in more natural tooth forms.

We use Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF) as an alternative to traditional cavity care for those who cannot tolerate treatment—for example children and the elderly. SDF is a liquid made up of fluoride and silver particles that is applied directly to cavities with a small brush. It stops cavities from growing by making the tooth harder and limiting the growth of the bacteria.

Crowns

A crown is a dental prosthetic—made from a composite material that matches the color of your natural tooth—that’s like a cap for the tooth that needs to be restored. We typically use crowns when a cavity is too large for a filling to be effective. Crowns are bonded to the natural tooth using a strong dental cement.

Diastema closure

A diastema is a space between front teeth. We work to close diastemas through orthodontics or restoration, such as the addition of composite. The benefits of diastema closure go beyond just aesthetics. Closing the gap between your teeth can also improve your dental health since large gaps between your teeth can make it difficult to properly clean your teeth, increasing the risk of tooth decay and gum disease.
